We are grieving for the loss of Lacy, who passed away yesterday. We already miss her more than you can know. She was a beautiful girl who always gave us nothing but her very best. She never complained and followed through on everything we ever asked of her. She is in a very special place in our hearts. The above picture was taken just 2 weeks ago on a ride in Medicine Bow National Forest. You wouldn't know it in this picture, but just an hour after it was taken, we found ourselves in a severe thunderstorm. We were poured on by rain and hail while it was lightening and thundering. Lacy was being pelted by hail and was soaking wet while carrying Jason down the steep mountainside. She didn't hesitate and got Jason back to the trail head and safety. Just one fond memory of the countless amazing things this girl did for us.
This photo was taken 6/23/09. Just one day before the last moments we had with her. We came out on to the deck and Lacy came to the fence nickering at us with her nostrils flaring with each deep rumble of her voice. I wish you could hear her in this photo. She was asking for a treat and i threw her a couple of apples. I wish I had thrown her a banana, her favorite, I didn't know this would be the last time she'd be nickering at me.
We miss you Lacy Cakes, we really really miss you!
Walk with Charlie now. You will be forever remembered.
We love you!
