Wyoming Territorial Prison, Laramie Wyoming

We, Melissa, Jason and I, visited the Wyoming Territorial Prison.  It was built in the late 1800's.  It's the only prison to have held Butch Cassidy!  It held over 1000 male prisoners in it's time and only 12 women.  One woman served time twice there.  It was really interesting to visit!  

Melissa and I are getting hauled off to prison!  Luckily Jason had bail money :P

Here is a view of the cells inside the prison.  It is 3 stories.  We are in a guard look out that over looked the 3 levels.  The prison had 2 wings and this is the backside of one wing.  The cells had no outside walls and no windows.

The inside of the cells.  They housed two people per cell.  It was very small.  Very small!  The prison had an indoor bathroom that the prisoners had to be taken to every time they needed to use it.  They were required to take a bath once a week.  In those days most people didn't have an indoor bathroom, so that was quite a luxury at the prison.
