Last weekend, Chad and I went to Medicine Bow National Forest west of Laramie for a guys get-a-way weekend. We left Cheyenne about 2:30 pm and arrived at our campsite about 5:30 pm. We did make a couple of stops along the way, one to pick up a much needed map at the National Forest Service office in Laramie. We also had to turn around a couple of times due to a few deep snow drifts across the road that were over the tires on the truck. We ended up at a nice little spot along Douglas Creek. Although as you can see by some of the pictures below, it was more like a river due to the Spring melt off. On Saturday we went for a nice long hike along the river, probably about 6 miles round trip. We followed the "creek" as it flowed through the countryside. We didn't see any large animals on the hike, just a lot of tracks... moose, elk, deer, etc. Overall we had a great time camping, hanging out, enjoying nature, enjoying friendship. Hopefully it will be the first of many new adventures "into the Wild" here in Wyoming.
