Flint's Snow Shoes

The farrier came last week and we had snow shoes put on Flint.  Since Flint has to wear shoes all the time, the snow will pack and freeze onto his shoes.  This makes ice balls on his feet and it is really hard for him to walk comfortably or even easily.  He was really gimping around before we had them put on.  He would hold a foot up waiting for you to clean them out.  Poor guy :(

These snow shoes are a rubber shoe that fits in between his foot and steel horse shoe.  It gets nailed on with the nails for the steel shoe.  It keeps the snow and ice from sticking to the shoe. And, since he has gotten them, we haven't had any snow ;)    -Knock on Wood-      :P
