Riiiigghht! It's April 4th and I'm confused...this looks and feels like December!! We have gotten more snow today than we have gotten all winter added together! It's blowing like a blizzard, it has been a complete "white out" all day! The wind is blowing from the North. We are lucky it isn't blowing directly in to the barn, but it is funneling the snow in to the barn.
In this pic I am standing in front of the opening where the horses enter the barn and looking towards our back yard. You can see the wind is blowing the snow around the barn, except for the drift that is caught here, in front of the entrance. And that is the snow that is getting blown in. It's pretty comfortable in the barn, believe it or not! There is white powder carpeting though :P
Here is a pic from the kitchen window of the barn at 8:30am this morning. You have a better look of the snow blowing around the barn. The wind has been blowing at 25-35 mph all day today, with gusts up to 40 mph! It's amazing how the wind blows areas completely clean of snow and piles in other places.
Here's the view from the kitchen at 4:30pm today. You can't even see the houses behind us! More of the back yard is cleared off, but the drifts have gotten bigger!
